Bjorksten | bit 7 is seeking a User-Interface Designer to work on our client’s software development team for products used for biotechnology applications.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess requirements and develop UI designs for web based desktop applications.
• Emphasize ease of use and support user workflows.
• Create wireframes, user task and interaction flows, UI sketches, prototypes, and prepare UI design specifications that will be used as blueprints for development.
• Conduct design reviews and usability tests.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, or equivalent field of study.
• Desktop applications a must.
• At least 3 years of industry experience designing GUIs.
• Demonstrate experience with appropriate design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Visio, and others.
• Experience with usability and user-centered design techniques, demonstrating knowledge of task analysis, wireframing, and documenting workflow.
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills working within cross-functional teams.
• A portfolio of design samples is required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design, or other related discipline is preferred.
• Experience designing GUIs for biotechnology or scientific applications a plus.
